How to Get Started

Hello, I am new to the forum and to teaching. I will be in either a 5th or 6th grade, middle school environment, classroom. I have studied reader's and writer's workshop and know for sure that this is the approach I want to take in my classroom. While I have the time this summer I would like to try and establish a "game plan" to get my students started and to establish the system of r/w workshop. I thought perhaps some of you might share how you set up your room, get started and maintain. Any helpful hints would be appreciated. Do you find this valuable?
