Managing and Assessing Writers Notebooks
This page is a place for us to share ideas and ask questions of each other about how we manage all of those notebooks. You can choose to use "Easy Edit" to write your strategies, questions, and responses, or you can use comments. If you have rubrics, descriptions, or other helpful documents - use the "Add an attachment" button to the right.
What are systems teachers are using to make sure they see every notebook on a somewhat regular basis? I really struggle with this even though I know it is essential to assessing my writers.
I've added an attachment for student guided notebook tours. You'll need to scroll all the way down to find it. I'd love to know what others are using for notebook assements - anyone willing to share? (kristen)

Hi all - I'm really struggling with how to grade notebooks in a way that communicates effectively with families but doesn't make me want to poke my own eyes out. Do you have any suggestions or strategies that you use that I could try?
Do you find this valuable?

Hi all - I experimented with this tour form earlier this week and I think it went pretty well. It's a guide sheet for students to take their family members on tours of their notebooks. We used the mini-lesson area to post-it our choices in our notebooks,
